Lately, I’ve been sitting with a bit of a creative shift.
The kind where you feel like you’ve outgrown something, but you’re not quite sure what comes next.
The kind that whispers, “This season feels different.”
And I’ve realised…
What worked before, doesn’t always work now.
And trying to cram my old habits into this new season?
It’s only made me feel more stuck.
Because here’s the truth:
When life shifts, your habits need to shift too.
Your identity needs an update.
That’s what no one tells you.
Creating new momentum isn’t just about willpower
It’s about deciding who you are now.
If you want to be someone who creates consistently?
That starts by making creativity part of your identity, not just something you schedule in.
Like James Clear says:
“Every action is a vote for the type of person you want to become.”
Taking one photo doesn’t make me a photographer.
But it is one vote toward being someone who doesn’t wait for perfect light or motivation.
One push-up won’t make you fit.
But it is a vote for the person who doesn’t skip workouts.
And momentum? It works both ways.
If you skip your camera today, it’s easier to skip it tomorrow.
If you isolate, it’s easier to stay quiet.
If you sit down and scroll all night, it’s easier to stay stuck.
But it also flips the other way:
Take one photo today, and it’s easier to take the next.
Reach out to one person, and suddenly you’re connected again.
Show up creatively just once, and it reminds you what’s possible.
And don’t overcomplicate it.
Make it easy.
Start with 2 minutes.
One walk with your camera.
One photo you shoot just for you.
One honest post, not for likes, but for you.
Because this isn’t about cranking out content to keep up.
It’s about adapting to a new rhythm that fits who you’re becoming.
So if you’re in a new season, don’t drag old expectations and old routines into it.
Pause.
Recalibrate.
And build habits that serve the you you’re becoming.
You’re not stuck.
You’re just overdue for an identity update.
Let’s get back to shooting from the inside out.
Small steps. Big shift.
You in?
